FORM OF LICENSE
Nightman’s License
Whereas the bearer has satisfied the City of
South Melbourne that he or she is a fit and
proper person to exercise the calling of night
man and that he or she is possessed of a fit and proper cart
suitably constructed for that purpose: now therefore I, the Town
Clerk of the said municipality do in the name of Melbourne Town,
license the bearer to ply for hire within Melbourne and to cart
night soil from any part of the town proper of South Melbourne
between the hours of eleven o’clock and five o’clock in in the
morning to the Manure Depot at Fishermans Bend.
