Invitation to launch of Community Garden

Invitation to launch of the 482 Community Garden
Friday 22 June at 1.30pm
482 Williamstown Road
(corner Farrell Street), Port Melbourne

The 482 Residents Group  invites you to attend the launch of their Community Garden by Councillor Janet Bolitho on Friday 22 June at 1.30pm at 482 Williamstown Road, Port Melbourne.

In early 2012 residents began a project to create a community garden to improve the grounds of their housing estate and make the courtyard an attractive place to socialise and undertake activities for themselves and visitors including family, friends and neighbours.

This first stage of this stunning garden have now been completed as a result of a huge effort by residents with support from local community organisations including Open Spaces (CoPP), Port Phillip Community Group, Bunnings, Ecocentre and others. The project includes creation of a designed garden,  furniture restoration, a mural, men’s shed and marquee.
The garden is dedicated to past residents who for half a century have contributed to the life of the estate and the Port Melbourne community.
